Cadillac will unveil at the Detroit Auto Show the 2010 SRX Crossover. We first got a glimpse of this car as the Provoq concept at last year’s show, and then officially dubbed the SRX in August at Pebble Beach.
The 2010 SRX is powered by a choice of two six-cylinder engines that are new to Cadillac: a standard 3.0-liter that delivers 260 hp and an optional 2.8-liter turbocharged unit that makes 300 hp. The engines are mated to a Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission that helps save fuel by lowering the engine’s rpm at constant highway speeds.

Cadillac announced the world premiere of the Escalade Hybrid, the world’s first fuel-saving hybrid applied to a large luxury SUV. Powered by an innovative, fuel-saving 2-Mode Hybrid system, Escalade Hybrid will deliver more than a 50-percent improvement in fuel economy in city driving – all while delivering the same distinctive style, segment-leading features and full-size capability that have made the Escalade an icon.
“ Escalade, already the sales and style leader among large luxury SUVs, now adds the desirability of a fuel-saving, technically advanced hybrid system,” said Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager. “The arrival of Escalade Hybrid means that consumers can now use less fossil fuel, reduce emissions and still enjoy the benefits of a full-size luxury SUV.”

As the new CTS sport sedan earns accolades and new owners, Cadillac takes the next leap forward by premiering the 2009 CTS-V, the brand’s ultimate expression of performance and luxury. Launching in the fourth quarter of 2008, the all-new CTS-V intends to combine the serious performance of an elite sports car with the poise and elegance of a prestigious luxury sedan.

Cadillac today revealed the new 2009 edition of the XLR Roadster, featuring styling and model enhancements providing more dramatic design and technology. For 2009 XLR will be offered in only two versions: luxurious XLR Platinum and the high-performance XLR-V.
The XLR Platinum is powered by a 4.6L Northstar V-8 engine that delivers 320 hp, while the XLR-V is powered with a 443 hp 4.4L Supercharged Northstar V-8 engine.
The 2009 XLR includes a new front fascia, new rear fascia and new side fender vents. The revised design is inspired by the award-winning CTS sport sedan, delivering more detail and aggressiveness to Cadillac’s roadster. The front fascia includes new fog lamps and specific upper and lower grilles for the Platinum and V-Series models. Also, both ’09 models feature the distinctive hood with a raised center section that was previously exclusive to the V-Series.

The 2009 supercharged Cadillac XLR-V is the quickest, most agile and most exclusive Cadillac ever offered, combining advanced technology with hand craftsmanship that harkens back to Cadillac’s origins as a custom luxury coach builder.
Its 443-hp supercharged Northstar V-8 is hand-assembled to exacting standards at GM’s Performance Build Center in Wixom, Mich. Each engine is built from start to finish by a single expert craftsman. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control. This powerful combination enables 0-to-60 (mph) acceleration in less than five seconds. The XLR-V includes numerous chassis enhancements for outstanding performance, developed and tuned in some of the world’s most demanding environments.
2009 Cadillac STS
Cadillac’s STS is the mid-sized car from the luxury carmaker positioned between the CTS and the DTS. The 2009 STS is available in V-6 and V-8 rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models. The ultra-luxury STS Platinum Edtion returns for 2009, along with the STS-V.
The lower front fascia features a distinctive intake and grille pattern evoking Cadillac’s V-Series high-performance models. Similarly, side air extractors, again inspired by the Sixteen concept and Escalade, are now incorporated into the front fenders of STS. New chrome-plated door handles and lower rocker moldings are added for more presence and refinement. At the rear, the new fascia is now body color and is highlighted with polished aluminum three-inch exhaust tips. New, polished 18-inch x 8-inch aluminum 14-spoke wheels are available.

In a changing automotive 009 Cclimate, Cadillac enters the 2009 with the a much-needed hybrid, which is also the first in the large luxury SUV class. 2009 also introduces a new ultra-luxury Platinum Edition with even more segment-first technologies.
The Escalade lineup features integrated powertrain, chassis, safety and interior systems that deliver the most powerful, efficient luxury SUVs in the segment, led by a 6.2L all-aluminum V-8 engine with variable valve timing technology delivering 403 hp and 417 lb.-ft. of torque. The 6.2L engine has been revised to run using renewable E85 ethanol, making it a flex-fuel vehicle for the first time.

2009 Cadillac Converj
Here’s a sexier approach to the Chevrolet Volt. Cadillac’s Converj concept takes the electric car with a gas back powertrain (now called Voltec) from the Chevy and wraps it in a sleek body that reminds of a larger version of the CTS coupe.
The Converj is a strict four-seater. While this is used to give this car a sportier image, this is also necessary because a big center section is taken up by the "T" shaped battery used to power the car. The battery pack contains more than 220 lithium-ion cells that can power the car for up to 40 miles. After the battery runs out, the electric will be replenished by a gas-powered generator. Just like the Volt, the car is designed to be fully charged after plugged in for eight hours on a normal household 120-volt outlet (three hours for 240v).

The big new from Cadillac’s big ’ol Escalade last year was the introduction of the Escalade Hybrid model. The other introduction, that got less press, was the introduction of a Platinum Edition, which included LED headlamps and Cadillac’s adaptable Magnetic Ride Control system.
Now General Motors has combined the two. The Escalade Platinum Hybrid takes advantage of the two-mode system developed by GM, and then adds elements like 22-inch wheels, Aniline leather and TV screens in the front headrest. It’s like Cadillac is saying, “Just ’cause your bling-bling don’t mean you don’t care about the environment, homey.”

We named the Cadillac CTS-V our car of the year for 2009, so we’re probably going to already be bias in favor of the V6 version. We are practical people at TopSpeed (sometimes), so we should be fine with trading 552 hp engine and Magnetic Ride Control for 304 hp and about $20K more cash in our pocket (starting at $39,885), right?
