Toyota and Honda top automotive brands in consumer perception

Automakers spend billions of dollars to promote their vehicles and build brand awareness. Yet, marketing alone does not shape consumer perception without a clear connection to the vehicles in the showroom. In the latest Auto Pulse survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center, Toyota and Honda brands ranked first and second, respectively, by dominant margins over all others. Likewise, the vehicles from those brands have consistently performed well in our testing, often ranking among the best in their classes, and have been mostly at the top of our reliability ratings over the years. CITROEN


2010 Citroen C3
The new generation Citroen C3 will go on sale this November. Sold in more than 2 million units until now, the C3 is one of the most successful models on the European market.
The new C3 will get new powerplants starting 2011, incorporating second-generation Stop & Start. Coupled with five- and six-speed electronic gearboxes, they will equip diesel versions emitting only 95 and 90 g/km de CO2. In short, the new generation of three-cylinder engines will enable versions emitting less than 100 g/km de CO2.
With a length of 3.94 m, a width of 1.71 m and a 10.2 m turning circle, it is perfect for the city.
2009 Citroen C4
Citroen will present at the the Moscow International Motor Show, which will open on 26 August 2008, a restyled version of the successful C4.
Citroen has made some judicious styling tweaks to strengthen the car’s successful design, which has been a hit with the public right from the start. The restyle focused on the front end, emphasizing its elegance, strength and energy.
The interior has also been redesigned. Citroen has added new upholstery and a new grain on several trim parts, and incorporated the rev counter in the middle of the dashboard.
Engine-wise, the C4 is now available with two new petrol engines co-developed with BMW. The VTi 120 and THP 150 units bring even more on-road pleasure and significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

2009 Citroen C3 Picasso
Citroen will unveil the all new C3 family body style at this year’s Paris Motor Show, ahead of launch in first-quarter 2009. The C3 Picasso is a concept vehicle that revolutionizes user-friendliness with its intuitive modular design that allows owners to optimize interior space in record time.
Measuring 4.08 m long, 1.73 m wide and 1.62 m tall, it has a surprisingly compact front end and a strictly vertical rear end. These original proportions provide an incredible amount of cabin room. The boot is equally capacious, boasting up to 500 litres VDA under the parcel shelf with all five seats in place.
2009 Citroen C1
Citroen revealed today the facelift version of the C1. The car is set to go on sale in Europe during November/December, and will receive minor styling changes including a redesigned front end and new interior trims.
Citroen C1 is an urban car that is made along side the Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo. They trio have become popular city cars if for no other reason than they are on the road for under £8,000 (about $13,000 at direct current rates).
The C1 is available in gas and diesel versions, mated to an automatic gearbox or a SensoDrive 5-speed automated manual. The three-cylinder gas engine makes 68 hp 1.0i and is the same as the ones available in the Peugeot and Toyota. The diesel engine is exclusive to the Citroen and makes 53 hp at 4,000 rpm.
2009 Citroen DS
Although Citroen revealed the official details about the reviving the DS line back in February, it used the Geneva Motor Show to give the car its first public showing. The DS3 will be joined by two other larger model’s in Citroen’s future lineup. The technical detail is not available yet for any of the DS line.
What was shown in Geneva was just a concept preview. The production version will be revealed in 2010, and Citroen has set cars like the Audi A3 and Alfa Romeo 149 as its main competition. Eventually the DS3 will be joined by large siblings currently known as the DS4 and DS5.
2008 Citroen C-Cactus
Citroën is unveiling C-Cactus at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. This ingenious concept is a new take on vehicle design, centered on essential values. The Marque’s ambitious aim is to market an ecological hatchback with cheerful, attractive styling, equipped with a hybrid HDi drivetrain and sold at the same price as an entry-level C4.

Building on the commercial success of its compact MPV range, recently bolstered by the C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso, Citroën is continuing to develop models with spacious interiors by combining elegance and driving pleasure in its top-end C8 MPV.
2008 Citroen Nemo Combi
Citroen is presenting the Nemo Combi at the Brussels Motor Show from 15 January 2008. The Marque’s new entry-level leisure activity vehicle is scheduled for launch in spring 2008.
