Gallardo is best sold Lamborghini of all the times. Valentino Balboni is a remarkable test driver. Together they offer the most exclusive Gallardo ever: the LP 550-2 - the 550 stands for the power output in hp and the 2 is for rear wheel drive.
The Gallardo LP 550-2 is powered by a 5.2 litre V10 engine that delivers 550 hp. With a weight of only 3042 lbs, the car sprins from 0 to 60 mph in just 3,9 seconds and can hit a top speed of 199 mph.
On the exterior the car features a color strip in white and gold running from the front panel over the roof and parts of the engine cover all the way to the rear spoiler, with inspiration from the classic sports cars from the ’70s.
The supercar will be limited to only 250 units, priced in USA at $219.800.

The huge LM002, also known as the "Rambo Lambo" build for General adaffi in the 80s will soon have a successor. After many denials from the company, spy photographers caught a few prototype testing. Of course the real car was hidden under the sheetmetal of a Porsche Cayenne, but no one was deceived by this little disguise.
There are two things that made everyone know we are watching the Lambo SUV under the skin of that false Cayenne: one - the prototype tested was huge compared to the next generation Cayenne that will be smaller and sportier than the current generation. And second, the widened fenders and lowered front-end are not from a regular SUV. Conclusion: we are watching something big! Future Lamborghini SUV that will be unveiled sometime in 2009.

Lamborghini unveiled today the Gallardo LP560-4, the successor of the most successful Lamborghini model of all time.
The Gallardo LP560-4 is powered by the new 5.2 litre V10 engine with an output of 560 PS (412 kW) at 8000 rpm. The increase of 40 PS compared with that of the previous Gallardo, and the approximate 20 kilogram reduction in weight, improves the power weight ratio to 2.5 kilograms per PS (hp) and thus enhances performance. The LP560-4 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, its speed at 11.8 seconds is 200 km/h and its top speed lies at 325 km/h.
Weight is undesirable in a sports car and a lightweight model encourages the dynamics of such a vehicle. Aluminium is much lighter than sheet steel and this is why the Gallardo LP560-4 is produced with a body in a much lighter but nevertheless more stiff structure: the two-seater car measures 4.34 metres in length, 1.90 metres in width and a mere 1.16 metres in height. It weighs in dry at 1410 kilograms - which is, effectively, 20 kilograms less that that of the previous Gallardo.
The construction of the Gallardo LP560-4 utilises what is known as a ‘spaceframe construction method’. Integrally moulded node elements and extruded parts create its frame, and sheet metal plates made out of aluminium have been neatly and securely integrated to form the body. The body is not only extremely light but also torsionally stiff and displays the highest safety characteristics. Thus the basis for the extraordinary handling characteristics of the LP560-4 is formed.

Lamborghini finally unveiled the official details on the 2009 Estoque Concept. The Estoque is the first sedan in the history of Automobili Lamborghini, but Lambo wants people to think “sedan” is more a reference to the number of doors than any other characteristic.
Even if it wants to keep the sports car image, Lamborghini is still positioning the Estoque as the family man’s Lambo. As the press release says, "It is the only car that allows you to share the singular driving pleasure of a Lamborghini with more than one person – possibly even with the whole family. And there is still enough room left over for weekend luggage or several golf bags."
Although the car is only 4.43 feet high Lamborghini says the long wheelbase will make the car spacious. This means not only will the driver get the low, leaning back position typical of a Lamborghini, but so will wife (or husband) and the kids. But don’t expect all traditions in this Lambo sedan, the doors open in a normal front-hinged, swing out manner.
The engine proposed for the Estoque is likely the V10 from the Gallardo LP 560-4. Lambo also hinted that a turbocharged V8 as well as even a hybrid or diesel powertrain could be thrown into the mix.
Italy, they even catch their criminals with a little passion and soul. Lamborghini unveiled today the Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia that replaces the previous Gallardo in use by the Italian police force since 2004. The car has a 560 hp engine and can reach speeds of up to 203 mph. It’s almost enough to make you want to do a crime just so you can go for a ride.
This is more than just a Gallardo with a light bar and a paint job. The cabin of the super sports car is fitted with the latest advancements in police technology to immediately document the evidence of any transgression. This includes video, computer, radio and GPS systems that can work together to pinpoint the criminals and send data to the relevant police station.
Now all they need is a better slogan. How about, "Polizia: In Jail They Can’t Hear You Scream." (Thank you Mr. Clarkson.)
