The new generation Megane made in world debut in 2008 at the Paris Auto Show. Sales started from November 2008. The new Megane is being offered with a choice of two petrol engines and six Diesel engines. There are five different versions on the market: Authentique, Expression, Carminat, Dynamique and Privilège. New Mégane Hatch prices will range from €18,400 to €25,600.
New Renault Mégane exudes a sense of robustness and perceived quality. This impression is heightened by the generous surface area and curvaceous forms of the body panels. Seen from the side, the feature line extends the crease of the slightly prominent front wings rearward to emphasize the car’s broad, solid shoulders. The wide track dimensions (1.55m) ensure that the car sits squarely on the road, and this sense of stability is underlined by the steeply-raked rear screen and, indeed, by the entire rearend design. New Renault Mégane’s proportions, the form of the beltline and the large door panels exude a feeling of protection.
Renault New Mégane’s interior is extensively equipped with practical, comfort-enhancing features. These include combined analogue/digital instruments incorporating a new, easier to read colour-coded cruise control/speed limiter interface. The list continues with a host of equipment normally associated with the next segment up, such as hands-free entry and ignition, automatic locking as the driver walks away from the car, a Carminat Bluetooth® DVD navigation system and a custom-developed audio system (3D Sound by Arkamys®).

Renault will unveil at the Paris Auto Show the Kangoo "be bop". This is the production car based on the Compact Concept from last year’s Frankfurt Auto Show. The new model is being offered in two-tone color scheme and exclusive interior appointments.
The Kangoo be bop is powered by a choice of two diesels: a 85hp dCi and a 100hp dCi which comes with a particulate filter and drives through a six-speed gearbox. There is also a 105 hp 1.6 16V gasoline unit.
This seems to be Renault’s take on the "urban vehicle". It is the kind of car that is supposed to maximize space without looking like box on wheels. It wants to be sporty and it want to be a van; the question is does it do either well? So is this one of those car that make you happy Renault doesn’t sell to the U.S. anymore, or is this the ultimate surf wagon?
Based closely on the Kangoo Compact Concept show car unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, Renault Kangoo be bop is the latest addition to the Kangoo family. The compact size (length: 3.87 metres), original two-tone colour scheme and exclusive interior appointments of this innovative vehicle combine to produce a particularly forceful personality. Its extensive glazed area and four roomy seats afford a sense of space and light. Ideal for escaping the crowd, Renault Kangoo be bop offers open-top motoring at the rear thanks to its glazed sliding roof and rear tailgate window which slides out of sight. At the front it has two tilting glass panels, plus a fixed central glass panel. This new car is ideal for customers who wish to move away from established automobile cues and who are looking for a vehicle that expresses optimism and joie de vivre without being showy.
A truly original reworking of a show car
Renault Kangoo be bop came into being in the wake of the enthusiasm prompted by the Kangoo Compact Concept show car at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. A compact leisure vehicle with an original design and strong personality, Kangoo Compact Concept showed that an unusual car could appeal to active, sporty urban dwellers who share the values of fun and friendship. In addition to its design, the originality of the concept lay in its extensive glazed area and unique convertibility solutions, with the emphasis on space and light. Renault Kangoo be bop’s designers have succeeded in producing a production model which echoes the strengths and features of the concept car.Renault Kangoo be bop has the Kangoo front end with its short bonnet and droplet-shaped headlamps. Light floods into the cabin through the sweeping, steeply raked windscreen for outstanding visibility. Renault Kangoo be bop differs from its elder sibling by being even shorter (less than four metres in length), as well as through some original styling details, such as the black headlamp masks, specific bumpers, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Ground clearance has been raised 20mm compared with New Kangoo, while protective side mouldings lend the look of ’urban adventurer’, ready to confront the great outdoors. Its robust, expressive lines are energized by the standard two-tone colour scheme handed down from the concept car. The bonnet, grille, outside rearview mirrors, front bumper bib and tailgate panel are Sideral Grey, while the rest of the bodywork is another colour, e.g. Etincelle Orange, borrowed from Kangoo Compact Concept. Another similarity is the elongated, semi-circular form of the side windows, which make Renault Kangoo be bop instantly recognisable. The large tailgate window slides right out of sight into the door. It is operated by a switch on the instrument panel or by a third button on the ignition key, and makes it possible to access the boot without having to unlock the car or open the tailgate. The system naturally incorporates an anti-pinch safety function.Renault Kangoo be bop features the same convertible roof configuration seen on the concept car, with a fully glazed, forward-sliding panel at the rear. With the rear section of the roof and rear window in the open position, Renault Kangoo be bop’s rear passengers are able to enjoy the delights of open-air motoring. The roof opens at an angle which creates a deflecting effect to prevent bothersome turbulence while on the move. Its ’open’ and ’closed’ positions are secured by two side locks. It opens independently of the tailgate with the help of two small rams. The wide, fixed middle glazed panel contributes to the cabin’s brightness, while the two front tilting glass panels ensure that front-seat occupants also get a taste of the open air. Even when open, the panels do not interfere with the forward-sliding rear roof. The glazed roof panels have all been treated to filter out the sun’s ultraviolet rays.Although Kangoo be bop’s dashboard and front seats are the same as New Kangoo’s, the rear features two individual, raised seats which make the interior redolent of a four-seater lounge on wheels. The different exterior colour schemes and interior trim are reminders that Renault Kangoo be bop is at home in the city as it is on jaunts in the great outdoors and can look either ’chic’ or ’fun’. The chic look is derived from the Nacré Black, Pavot Red and Glacier White body colours, combined with the red and black upholstery and dark charcoal dashboard. The funlovingbe bop comes in a choice of an Etincelle Orange or Glacier White exterior together with silver, blue, and orange upholstery, plus a blue dashboard, as featured on Kangoo Compact Concept. The white instrument backgrounds and satin-finish chrome climate control console further emphasize the exclusive feel of the car’s interior. For the first time in the Kangoo range, Renault Kangoo be bop can be ordered with Carminat Bluetooth® CD navigation. In addition to its attractive price, this system offers all the fundamental multimedia features, namely GPS navigation with traffic information, a 16/9 seven-inch colour display and Bluetooth® telephony.Renault Kangoo be bop features numerous travel accessories that mark it out as a car for getting away from it all. A luggage rail above the tailgate window can be used for carrying long items such as surfboards, while a range of decals and stickers permits customers to customise their Renault Kangoo be bop. If they wish, occupants can to listen to their own playlists thanks to the Plug and Music option. It is located in the glovebox and has USB, MP3 player, and iPod® connection ports. It is controlled via the steeringwheel-mounted fingertip remote control. Rounding off the multimedia equipment is the hands-free Bluetooth® telephone control.

2009 Renault Megane CoupeRenault unveiled at the Paris Auto Show the production version of the Mégane Coupé Concept unveiled at the Geneva Show in the spring of 2008.
New Renault Mégane Coupe is equally inspired by the passion associated with the automobile. Its extremely dynamic frontal-styling looks feature a grille comprising two outer air-scoops picked out by a satin-finish chrome trim that runs either side of logo, as well as a central air-intake incorporating a mattblack crossbar. The headlamps, which prolong the lines of the two air-scoops, provide the vehicle with a strong, clear personality. The crease lines of the bonnet sweep up the bonnet to the windscreen pillars and continue via the raked windscreen and sloping roofline to produce a particularly dynamic silhouette.
The dCi 85 and dCi 105 engines, which have been widely praised for the performance and driving pleasure they deliver, have been joined by the dCi 90 and the particulate filter-equipped dCi 110. Every one of these engines emits less than 120g of CO2/km (118g/km for dCi 85 et 90, 120g/km for dCi 105 and 110) while the new dCi 130 profits from the dCi range’s most advanced technology in terms of combustion and turbocharging to return CO2 emissions of just 135g/km.
Depending on market, the petrol range available for New Mégane and New Mégane Coupe will comprise the 1.6 16V 110hp, as well as the 2.0 16V 140hp and the TCe 180. The 2.0 16V will be available from launch with a six-speed manual gearbox, while continuously variable transmission will be introduced with this powerplant at a later date. Renault’s latest petrol engine, the TCe 130 will be added to the catalogue in the spring of 2009.
2009 Renault Megane TrophyThe third model in Renault’s line-up at the Paris Auto Show is the Mégane Trophy, a concept that takes its inspiration from the lines of new Mégane Coupe.
Under its composite outer skin, new Mégane Trophy features the same mechanicals as the current car, including an FIA-homologated sports-prototype tubular chassis, a mid-rear V6 3.5 24V engine, a semiautomatic gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddle shift, double wishbone suspension with adjustable dampers and 18-inch wheels and Michelin tires.
A new inlet manifold, which is fed by roof-mounted air-ducts, has taken engine power from 330 to 360hp. Renault claims that the aerodynamic gains and the extra power output of the V6 3.5 24V engine will enable new Mégane Trophy to lap in times similar to those of a Porsche GT3.
To all those who are drooling over this now, remember even if the Trophy does make it to production, Renault is still keeping its hand out of the North American market.
Having starred in the World Series by Renault’s premier saloon car championship since the creation of the WSR in 2005, Mégane Trophy has undergone a raft of radical modifications in readiness for the 2009 campaign. The most visible change concerns its new body design which takes its inspiration from the lines of New Mégane Coupe. Under the bonnet, a fresh look has also been taken at the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s V6 3.5 24V powerplant which now delivers 360hp. At the same time, Renault Sport Technologies has carried over many of the acclaimed features of the current Mégane Trophy to produce a reliable, competitive and affordable racing car. There can be no mistaking New Mégane Trophy’s resolutely sporty calling and pedigree thanks its stunning looks which are based on the design of New Mégane Coupe. The front and rear light units and windscreen are those of the road car, while the designers at the Renault Technocentre have made full use of digital simulation technology in the realm of fluid mechanics to hone the flowing lines of the bodywork. New Mégane Trophy also carries over the ground effect aerodynamics of the existing car:

Better than most of your Christmas presents, tis’ the season for new F1 cars. Last week the Ferrari F60 and McLaren MP4-24 were unveiled, and now Renault has brought out its newest track car.
Like the rest of the field, the Renault F1 team will be adding the kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) to its new R29 F1 car.
