TOYOTA

2010 Toyota Avensis Preview Toyota will launch the third generation Avensis at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show and sales will begin later that year. The 2010 Avensis will be offered in two different body versions: sedan - to be launched first - and station wagon - that will be launched six months after the sedan version. Both version have been already caught testing by the spy photographers.
Although, since the launch of the second generation in 2003, the Avensis won the European Car of the Year award in 2004 and sales were up to 156,000 units, people say Avensis has a wiping design, with no dynamism. But the third generation Avensis will change this aspect. The 2010 model will feature a more dynamic and ascending side line, big head lights curved along the corners and a new grille.
There will also be a panoramic roof in the wagon, basicly a 4-foot glass panel instead of a metal roof. It is rumoured that there will be a Toyota Auris inspired raised gear stick in the Avensis too.
The technical part has never been a problem for Avensis, so Toyota will keep the current engines line-up: both petrol and diesel a, but will also offer a hybrid version starting 2010. As an options, the company will also offer a FWD version.

2010 Toyota Camry The 2010 Camry and Camry Hybrid made their world debuts today at the Detroit Auto Show. Sales will begin in March 2009 and prices will be announced at a later date.
The 2010 Camry comes with new design, inside and out and also an upgraded standard powertrain. On the exterior, Camry gets a newly designed grille and front bumper, an enlarged lower intake, larger projector headlamps and restyled tail lamps. The Camry and LE grades feature restyled standard wheel covers. The XLE grade will run on new 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, while the SE grade adds new 17-inch sporty alloy wheels.
The LE and XLE version will get a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine equipped with variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) that produces 169 hh, while the SE version will get 179 hp. A powerful 3.5-liter V6 delivering 268 hp is also available.
2010 Toyota Prius The third generation Prius made its world debut today at the Detroit Auto Show. With better mileage ratings, enhanced performance, and innovative design features, the 2010 Prius will go on sale in the spring.
The new Prius is powered by a new 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle, four-cylinder engine that delivers 98 hp and a peak torque of 105 lbs-ft. Prius has been a "full" hybrid since introduction. This allows it to run on engine alone, battery alone, or a combination of both.
The design of the new Prius’ front and rear corners are sharp, sporty and aerodynamic. Strong side character lines, rising from front to rear, define the glazed geometric shape. Viewed from the rear, wider rear treads provide a solid, firmly rooted stance.
Dimensionally, the new Prius has the same wheelbase as the current generation. Overall length is slightly increased by 0.6 inches, in part by moving the front cowl forward.

2010 Toyota Tundra Toyota revealed today in Chicago the 2010 full-size pickup truck and an all-new 4.6-liter V8 engine. For 2010 Toyota added two new models: Tundra Platinum Package and the recently announced Tundra Work Truck.
The new 4.6-liter V8 engine, available in the 2010 Tundra models, will deliver 310 hp and a peak torque of 327 lb-ft. of torque. Like Tundra’s optional 5.7-liter V8 engine, the new 4.6-liter V8 will be mated with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Platinum Package includes a new Limited grade billet-style grille with chrome bumpers, unique 20-inch alloy wheels and tires, daytime running lamps, door sill protectors with a Platinum logo, and Platinum badging. The Platinum Package will be available in four exterior colors that include Black, Silver, Slate, and Salsa Red.

2009 Toyota Matrix The Toyota Matrix, the sporty five-door vehicle that helped redefine the concept of a crossover utility vehicle, has been redesigned for the 2009 model year to offer performance that matters for driver enjoyment.
"The Matrix concept was based on blending the functionality of an SUV, the style, image and performance of a sports car with the affordability of a subcompact sedan," said Tim Morrison, Toyota Division corporate marketing manager. "For 2009, it’s all that, and more. It may have the body of a five-door hatch, but it comes with the soul of a two-door sports car."Development of the 2009 Matrix focused on greater exterior coupe-like styling with enhanced interior utility and improved dynamic performance. It was made wider with a lower stance than the current model while maintaining its interior space. The result is a sporty, dynamic shape that contains room for five people to ride in comfort. As a result of significant changes to the Matrix’s profile, the theme is flowing and dynamic. The design expresses a low center of gravity, and coupe-like style with a fun-to-drive image. From the rear, the Matrix has rounded rear windows and continuous character lines that run from the front grille to the A-pillar.Matrix will be available in three grades – Standard, S and the XRS. And Matrix will offer the option of all-wheel drive (AWD) with the S grade. The S and XRS models integrate a front underbody spoiler with a large mesh fog lamp bezel and rear underbody spoiler. A rear deck spoiler will be standard for all XRS models.

2009 Toyota Corolla Nearly 40 years after the Corolla was introduced to American drivers, the 2009 Corolla will continue to offer the quality and value for which the brand has long been known," said Tim Morrison, Toyota Division corporate marketing manager. "In style and substance, the tenth-generation Corolla will have a strong, new identity, all its own. It will be far more than merely the next-generation Corolla and will position itself perfectly above our entry-level Yaris and below our sales leader, the Camry."
Originally launched in Japan in 1966, Corolla first arrived in America in 1968 to instant success. For nearly four decades, Corolla has been synonymous with Toyota quality, style and value, earning a distinction as one of the most trusted cars in America. Over that span more than 30 million Corollas have been sold worldwide, making it one of the best-selling cars of all time. The new Corolla remains true to the brand’s role as a subcompact sedan, with dimensions similar to the model it replaces. But it offers an all-new body with a lean, stylish shape, and it delivers increased interior and luggage room, more power, more economical engines and an all-new chassis and suspension. The all-new Corolla will come in five grades – Standard, LE, XLE, the sporty S, and the performance-driven XRS.
The Corolla’s wide, low profile was developed by Toyota Design in collaboration with styling studios in Turin, Italy. Its foundation was set by the search for a lower, sportier shape than that of the previous Corolla. That search drove the decision to move the bottom of the A-pillar forward and the bottom of the C-pillar aft to increase the angle of the window glass and to improve the Corolla’s aerodynamic performance. The standard body kit on S and XRS models helps to modify aerodynamics and enhance the Corolla’s sporty look – these include a front underbody spoiler, fog lamps, rocker moldings, upper and lower rear spoilers, and for improved air management under the car, engine undercovers. The 2009 Corolla’s interior is sporty and distinctive – with roomy-feeling comfort. While Corolla maintains the same headroom, legroom and shoulder room as the previous model, it feels larger, thanks to a design that enhances comfort and improves utility, usability and storage.
